The best wedding venues in the Southwest

The Southwest of England is home to some of the most stunning wedding and event venues, combining historic charm, breathtaking landscapes, and modern elegance. At Forests and the Flowers, we’ve had the privilege of working at many of these incredible spaces, creating bespoke floral designs that reflect their unique character. Here are five of our favourite venues in the Southwest, listed in no particular order, each offering something truly special for your big day or event.

Kin House, Wiltshire

Kin House is a striking Georgian manor with a contemporary twist. With 12 acres of private grounds, elegant reception spaces, and onsite accommodations, it’s perfect for weddings and celebrations.

Why We Love It:

• The light-filled interiors and neutral tones create the perfect canvas for vibrant or subtle floral designs.

• Its outdoor space is ideal for arches, aisle arrangements, and garden-inspired installations.

• The venue’s juxtaposition of historic charm and modern luxury interiors makes it versatile for any theme.

Perfect Floral Pairing: You can do just about anything in this venue as the interiors are so versatile and colour combinations can fit. I love the bubbly pops of colours that we can take from anywhere in their venue as inspiration. The house’s elegant yet natural vibe lends to anything floral from classic and traditional to fun and contemporary.

Sezincote House and Gardens is one of the most unique venues in the Southwest. With its 200-year-old Mogul Indian architecture, water gardens, and picturesque grounds, Sezincote feels like an enchanting escape.

Why We Love It:

• The exotic architecture sets it apart from traditional venues, making it a stunning and breathtaking backdrop for any event.

• The extensive gardens provide endless opportunities for floral installations.

• Its blend of cultural richness and romantic charm makes it ideal for luxurious, bespoke floral designs of any kind.

Perfect Floral Pairing: Vibrant, jewel-toned arrangements with and unique florals to reflect Sezincote’s exotic elegance. I can also imagine creating arrangements with mustard tones and pops of orange and soft pinks to keep a cohesive theme from the exteriors through to the decor.

This contemporary art gallery is a bold and exciting choice for modern couples. With its minimalist aesthetic and thoughtfully designed spaces, Hauser & Wirth combines art, architecture, and nature seamlessly.

Why We Love It:

• The sleek, modern design pairs beautifully with sculptural or avant-garde floral arrangements.

• Its outdoor space, including the Piet Oudolf meadow, provides an idyllic setting for ceremonies and receptions.

• Perfect for couples who want to merge creativity with sophistication.

  • The Roth bar and Grill where the reception area takes place has hanging ability to create impactful floral clouds.

Perfect Floral Pairing: Modern and contemporary arrangements with clean lines, in a structural formation featuring modern flowers like orchids, anthuriums, calla lilies for a contemporary flair.

Hyde House, Cotwolds

Hyde House offers the quintessential Cotswold countryside wedding venue. Its stunning rural location and charming barn-style reception space make it a favorite for relaxed yet refined celebrations.

Why We Love It:

• The barn’s rustic charm blends perfectly with soft, romantic and autumnal floral designs.

• The rolling countryside views make it ideal for outdoor ceremonies and photo opportunities.

• Its warm, welcoming atmosphere is perfect for creating cozy floral displays.

  • We love the team at Hyde house, they are incredibly friendly and completely “on the ball”

Perfect Floral Pairing: The warmth of the wood and lighting in the venue lends to either modern or classic designs. The venue has hanging ability for us to create hanging floral clouds too. We love our autumnal weddings here in rust and orange tones.

Hamswell House is a privately owned, 16th-century manor surrounded by stunning gardens and panoramic views of the Cotswold hills. Its historic elegance makes it a top choice for luxurious, intimate events.

Why We Love It:

• The venue’s historic architecture adds a timeless charm to every floral design.

• The walled gardens and sweeping countryside views create a picturesque setting for outdoor ceremonies.

• Its exclusivity ensures a private, intimate atmosphere for your celebration.

Perfect Floral Pairing: Grand, opulent arrangements featuring roses, dahlias, and ranunculus, complemented by the creeping greenery outside the house.
